About the role:
This is a Fixed Term Position until30 June 2028.
This role plays a key part in supporting the successful delivery of the Mental Health and Wellbeing Client Management System (MHWCMS) project. The Project Officer will assist with day-to-day planning and coordination tasks across the project team, ensuring smooth execution of scheduling, contract management, financial monitoring, program reporting, and governance group support activities. The position also contributes to the development and maintenance of project documentation and artifacts, particularly as the MHWCMS solution is rolled out concurrently across multiple service providers.

About you:
The Department of Health is seeking a motivated and highly organised Project Officer to support the successful delivery of the Mental Health and Wellbeing Client Management System—an important initiative focused on improving service delivery through digital transformation.
In this role, you will contribute to planning, coordination, and reporting activities across multiple project streams. You'll work closely with internal teams and stakeholders to ensure that project milestones are tracked and met, risks are identified early, and appropriate solutions are implemented. A focus on detail and an ability to manage competing priorities will be essential to your success.
You will bring a strong understanding of planning and organisational processes, using systems and procedures to support effective delivery. With a systems-thinking approach, you'll be able to see how different elements of the project interact and anticipate potential issues before they arise. Your written and verbal communication skills will enable you to prepare clear and concise project documents, communicate effectively with stakeholders, and ensure key information is shared with the right people at the right time.
Attention to detail, initiative, and a collaborative mindset will be highly valued. You'll play an important part in a team committed to enhancing mental health outcomes through innovation and improved client management.

Desirable
- Qualifications in mental health, nursing, allied health or project management would be desirable but not essential.
- Experience working in the mental health and wellbeing sector, an Australian health jurisdiction or a Victorian government organisation is desirable.
