Our Institutional bank helps our largest customers move trade and capital around the region, providing our people with great opportunities to build their technical expertise and their careers.
About the Role
Role type: 12 month fixed term contract, full time
The Privacy Reforms Program is an enterprise-wide three-year program that has been established in response to Privacy risks and regulations continuously evolving. In Australia, the recent reforms passed last year introduced new obligations coupled with heightened penalties. It is pivotal that we remain proactive in our approach to ensure we meet these new obligations and increasing community expectations.
This role is pivotal to mitigating regulatory and reputational risk, ensuring compliance with upcoming reforms and securing ANZs position as a trusted and responsible custodian of personal information.
Australia's Privacy Act Reforms (2024) introduced new obligations and penalties, including a new Automated Decision Making (ADM) transparency compliance requirement. ANZ must disclose specifics on the use of automated decisions that use individuals’ Personal Information in ANZs privacy policy.
What will your day look like?
- Leading the discovery of automated decision-making (ADM) processes across the divisions, ensuring transparency and accountability.
- A key contributor to achieve and embed ADM compliance.
- Leading the discovery of ADMs across ANZ.
- Supporting risk assessments of identified ADM processes (PIA – Privacy Impact Assessment).
- Updating internal and external artefacts to provide the necessary disclosure of ADM processes.
- Driving the integration of privacy governance uplifts across the organization through collaborative relationships across relevant functional teams.
- Providing regular updates and reports to senior management on privacy governance initiatives and progress.
- To comply with future privacy reforms as they become available.
- Ensuring ANZ is proactive rather than reactive in meeting ADM Privacy Reforms expectations.
What will you bring?
- Demonstratable experience (10 years +) in privacy governance and compliance.
- Proven ability to work as part of delivery projects and drive organisational change.
- Excellent communication and senior stakeholder management abilities (written and verbal) to engage and influence.
- Strong understanding of privacy best practices and existing processes.
- Ability to develop clear and comprehensive documentation and training materials.
- Proactive and strategic mindset, with the ability to anticipate and address privacy governance challenges.
- Problem‑solving skills with attention to detail.
- Experience in project delivery, governance and leading complex delivery models with strong partner delivery capability.
- Ready to dive in and work hands‑on with enthusiasm and energy as a vital member of a dynamic, fast‑paced team.
- Experience leading a team and drive outcomes in a fast‑paced environment.
- Courage and commitment to drive change along with self‑driven leadership and team‑building skills.
- Ability to establish, build and maintain collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders and influence/negotiate change with senior stakeholders to achieve desired outcomes.
- Strong project management skills, ability to manage priorities and conflicting issues in a professional/risk based manner.
