This Victorian Government Agency is Data Privacy Manager to lead the approach to responsible data use, privacy compliance, and AI ethics.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the design and implementation of privacy and AI ethics frameworks, policies, and processes.
  • Oversee Privacy Impact Assessments (PIAs) and ensure privacy-by-design principles are integrated across all digital and data initiatives.
  • Advise Executives on privacy operations, compliance, and risks
  • Promote ethical conduct in the development and deployment of AI systems
  • Strengthen data protection strategies, including compliance with the Victorian Protective Data Security Standards (VPDSS)

Requirements

  • 5+ years' experience in data governance and privacy compliance, including managing privacy frameworks
  • Proven understanding of the Privacy and Data Protection Act 2014 and Victorian Information Privacy Principles.
  • Proven ability to manage privacy and AI-related risks, ensure compliance, and embed ethical standards
  • CIPM or CIPT Certification (desirable).
