We are currently looking for a passionate and highly dedicated Sous Chef to join our Sokyo Team at The Star Sydney.

A few of your responsibilities:

- Assist Restaurant Executive chef to manage the effectiveness of guest service, team members performance and development and service enhancements
- Oversee Sokyo sushi bar by supervising and leading by example
- Train and coach Jr Sous, Commis and Demi Chefs, and guide employees to perform kitchen operations
- Ensure outlets comply with HACCP standards by conducting daily monitoring and walkthroughs of the back of house
- Review stocktake daily and ensure appropriate orders have been made and stock received
- Rostering, ordering, training and etc

What we are looking for:

- Jr Sous Chef/ Sous Chef experience ideally working with Japanese cuisine
- Relevant tertiary qualifications, such as Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery
- Strong understanding of produce, culinary techniques, and kitchen equipment
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to commit to 40 hours per week working varied shifts, including weekends and holidays
