We are looking for Finance Officer (AO4.1) to work with our client in the State Government Space
- Part time(Preferred working days are Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, however some flexibility is available - three consecutive days are not preferred)
- $58.02 per hour + Super
- 12-Month Contract |Possible Extension
- Brisbane CBD | 100% on site

Your Opportunity
A Queensland Government department is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Finance Officer (AO4.1) to join their Finance Team on a 12-month contract, with the potential for extension. Working as part of a supportive team, you’ll assist with a broad range of financial functions including accounts payable, accounts receivable, reconciliations, banking, and reporting.
Key Responsibilities
- Process accounts payable and receivable transactions, daily banking, and general ledger reconciliations.
- Prepare billing invoices, assist with debt collection, and ensure timely processing of payments.
- Support procurement activities including sourcing suppliers, obtaining quotes, and adhering to State Purchasing Policy.
- Manage commitments, accruals, prepayments, and clearing accounts with accuracy.
- Maintain asset records, coordinate annual stocktakes, and process asset documentation.
- Assist with travel and accommodation bookings.
- Administer settlement funds and perform bank reconciliations.
- Provide high‑quality financial and administrative support to internal and external stakeholders.
- Prepare correspondence, maintain procedure documentation, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
About You
You’re a capable finance professional with a strong attention to detail and the ability to work effectively in a dynamic and fast‑paced environment. You bring excellent Excel skills, strong problem‑solving abilities, and a commitment to accuracy and service excellence.
- Demonstrated experience providing financial or accounting support within government, legal, or complex environments.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- The ability to prioritise competing tasks and work both autonomously and collaboratively.
- A proactive and solutions‑focused approach to your work.
