The Opportunity: Do you want to work for a renowned and respected health publisher and ethical provider of doctor data services, that has been producing leading-edge health information and resources for over a century? Based out of Town Hall House in the Sydney CBD, this organisation publishes Australia’s leading medical journal and generates revenue from the marketing and sales of a variety of digital and data-related products to the Australian medical and pharmaceutical industry sectors. This role will sell B2B products including:
- themed issues and supplements for the journal
- other products like podcasts and webinars
- new publishing products that you assist in developing
Their digital products and advertising services are backed by the most comprehensive healthcare data in Australia.
About you

As the Publishing Business Development Manager, you will be responsible for exceeding sales budgets through the generation of leads, utilisation of the current CRM and implementing new business growth, in line with the strategic plan.
Responsibilities
The Publishing BDM plays a pivotal role in a busy and growing Sales & Marketing department. Working closely with both internal and external stakeholders, you will develop a highly engaged customer base and client relationships for the organisation’s publishing offerings and services. You will have an extensive and successful track record in sales, including developing and promoting publishing products. Your experience and achievements will need to demonstrate:
- B2B Sales experience is essential
- Solid experience in a senior professional or educational publishing role responsible for:
- contributing to and implementing strategy
- revenue generation
- product development
- delivering multichannel products
- Strong communication and negotiation skills both face-to-face and virtual
- Ability to build and maintain strong client relationships
- Self-motivated and goal-oriented with a drive to succeed
- Capacity to work in a fluid environment and respond decisively
- Strategic orientation coupled with the ability to execute operationally
- Experience building and presenting business cases at various levels
- Relevant tertiary qualifications or a combination of qualifications and experience relevant to the role
