The role of the Marketing Manager is to support the marketing function to develop, implement, evaluate, and optimize MDC’s marketing campaigns, content, collateral, and other initiatives. The role reports directly into the Marketing Lead and will involve developing and implementing marketing plans to ensure delivery of the MDC’s business strategy. The role will involve:
- Marketing plan development - working alongside the Marketing Lead to develop the company’s marketing plan, with clear KPIs.
- New lead-gen management - optimise multi-channel marketing to acquire new business leads, coordinating with Business Development function to ensure strategic alignment.
- Reporting and Insights - manage analytics, reporting and insights. Interpreting and articulating marketing/audience/behavioural insights back to the organisation.
- Overseeing the development of marketing content – develop both online and offline marketing content for a broad range of marketing and communication activities.
- Channel content planning - develop an engaging content plan for social media and website, ensuring delivery of content to a high-standard and timely manner.
- Promoting impact - Seek opportunities and alternative ways to promote the impact MDC is having in the Drug Discovery community.
- Seeking promotional opportunities - work with the wider Communications team to identify and maximise promotional opportunities.
- Forming strong relationships with stakeholders - understand their offers and needs and use this to create campaigns and content.
Main duties and responsibilities
- Raising awareness of MDC and its global impact.
- Driving a commercial pipeline of inbound enquiries.
- Generating new ideas for campaigns and marketing channels.
- Manage content calendar and develop marketing content to engage, persuade and inform.
- Supporting projects to automate marketing processes. Developing templates, guidelines, and workflows etc.
- Marketing activity will require a combination of using all or some of our channels.
- Developing and optimising website and landing pages.
- Building, sending and optimising email newsletters and alerts.
- Developing, posting, monitoring, and engaging via organic social media channels.
- Developing and optimising paid search and social media advertising.
- Developing and placing advertising in online and offline publications.
- Working with internal and external stakeholders to develop content, media, and marketing assets.
Qualifications, experience and knowledge
- Experience in a B2B marketing role, with all rounded experience covering campaigns and content in particular.
- Extensive experience in developing and managing multi-channel lead-gen marketing campaigns.
- Commercially astute, experience in reporting on campaign performance, KPIs, ROI etc.
- Delivering marketing/audience/behavioural insights to the business.
- Familiarity with a range of digital marketing platforms (including HubSpot, Google, Social etc.).
- Highly creative with experience in developing content, marketing assets, communications etc.
- Strong analytical skills and data-driven thinking.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, able to work collaboratively within the larger team and autonomously.
- Ability to work in fast-paced environments, managing relationships and priorities with various stakeholders.
- Proactive and highly organised, with the ability to project manage various tasks to tight deadlines.
- Experience using HubSpot CRM and Marketing.
- Experience in Life Sciences sector.
- Experience using Adobe design software.
- Degree, professional qualification in Marketing or equivalent marketing experience.
