Marketing & Tourism Coordinator – Great Southern Wine Producers Association

Location: Great Southern (flexible hybrid options)

Contract: 0.4 FTE (4 days per week) – some out-of-hours work required

Reports to: Executive Officer

About the Role

The Great Southern Wine Producers Association (GSWPA) is seeking a passionate and creative Marketing & Tourism Coordinator to help elevate the Great Southern region as one of Australia's premier wine destinations.

The GSWPA is the peak body representing the Wine Producers in the Great Southern Wine Region of Western Australia and seeks to build sustainable growth in wine volume and value for both domestic and international markets for its producer members through a range of market development activity.

This dynamic role combines marketing execution, content creation, and tourism development to attract visitors, grow member engagement, and showcase the region's distinctive wine and food culture. You'll lead marketing initiatives, deliver memorable visitor experiences, and strengthen partnerships that position the Great Southern at the forefront of wine tourism.

Key Responsibilities

Marketing & Brand Development

  • Help develop and execute integrated marketing campaigns promoting GSWPA members, events, and the Great Southern wine region.
  • Create engaging digital content (social media, website, EDMs, print collateral) that reflects the brand's tone and visual identity.
  • Manage the GSWPA website, SEO strategy, and analytics to enhance visibility and drive engagement.
  • Produce media releases, newsletters, and trade communications to strengthen brand awareness.
  • Oversee CRM systems, social media platforms, and marketing calendars.

Tourism & Visitor Engagement

  • Assist design and deliver wine tourism strategies that boost visitor numbers, length of stay, and overall visitor satisfaction.
  • Collaborate with cellar doors, local tourism bodies, and regional partners to curate authentic and immersive wine experiences.
  • Manage information materials for visitor centers, cellar doors, and event partners.
  • Contribute to the development of regional tourism products, maps, guides, and digital storytelling assets.

Events & Activations

  • Plan and coordinate wine tastings, member events, festivals, and promotional activations.
  • Help manage logistics, budgets, and stakeholder relationships to ensure seamless and on-brand execution.
  • Support event promotion across digital and traditional channels.
  • Attend and represent GSWPA at key industry and public events (occasional weekend/evening work required).

Reporting & Administration

  • Track and report on campaign and tourism performance metrics.
  • Assist with marketing and event budgeting.
  • Provide creative and administrative support to the Executive Officer.

About You

You are a creative, detail-oriented professional with a passion for wine, tourism, and storytelling. You thrive on building connections and delivering engaging visitor experiences.

Essential Skills & Experience

  • 3–5+ years' experience in marketing, tourism, or event coordination (preferably in the wine or hospitality sectors).
  • Strong proficiency in digital marketing tools, social media management, and CRM platforms.
  • Demonstrated experience with Mailchimp or equivalent EDM platforms, Facebook Ads Manager, and Google Analytics is required.
  • Proven experience creating engaging multimedia content and managing brand communications.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with strong copywriting ability.
  • Competency in Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop) and MS Office.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects with creativity and attention to detail.
  • Current driver's licence and willingness to travel within the region.
  • Australian permanent residency is required for this position.
