The Office of Transport Safety Investigations (OTSI) is an independent statutory office within the Transport portfolio. OTSI’s role is to improve the safety of the NSW transport network by conducting and reviewing investigations into rail, bus, and ferry accidents and incidents; identifying contributing factors to an accident or incident; and sharing insights with transport operators, regulators, and other key stakeholders, with the aim of encouraging the implementation of safety actions to prevent recurrence.

Investigations undertaken by OTSI are conducted solely to improve transport safety.

OTSI has an established reputation as a highly knowledgeable, credible, and impartial investigatory body that is critical to safety improvement across the NSW transport network.

**The opportunity**

Right now, we have an opportunity for a **Business Coordinator** supporting two Directors within the investigations team. In this role, you will provide operational business support to facilitate the delivery of business operations to agreed standards. You will also assist in coordinating business processes for the investigations branch, ensuring alignment with corporate and team strategies and initiatives.

This new role is expected to operate with some degree of autonomy in respect to the day-to-day work priorities and to determine matters that need to be actioned. In addition, you will provide support for weekly and fortnightly meetings and reporting activities.

**About you**

You are a passionate Business Coordinator that has worked within an operational front line or government regulatory environment previously. You are a natural self-starter, with demonstrated experience improving business systems and processes to meet operational requirements. You are a natural collaborator, have a can-do attitude and possess excellent written and verbal communication skills. With strong negotiation and interpersonal skills, you have the ability to share information with key stakeholders to drive operational improvements.

To succeed in this role, you will also have:

- Experience monitoring performance targets, and action lists to enable you to provide a governance, risk and assurance function to management and carried out regular reporting.
- Managed internal and external operational interfaces, including stakeholder communications, workflows and approval processes across business functions and external stakeholders.
- Drafted correspondence, briefing notes and reports relating to specific projects, initiatives, and issues, ensuring that submissions are accurate, timely and have appropriate signoffs.
- Undertaken administrative functions, including office procedures, purchasing, meeting management and facilitation, minute taking and records management and ensure compliance with corporate administrative policies and procedures.
- Extensive experience working with MS Office systems.
- Business Intelligence and/or Project experience would be ideal, but not essential.

**Salary and benefits**

The salary for this position is OTSI Grade 7 ($108,770 - $121,822) per annum plus superannuation and leave loading. This is a full-time permanent opportunity.
