Workforce Planning and Development Manager

Eden Ritchie is seeking a Workforce Planning and Development Manager to ensure the effective coordination, implementation and integration of the Secretariat’s workforce planning and development methodology, programs, policies, projects and resources. You will provide strategic advice to the Executive Director and Director on issues affecting the operations of the Secretariat.

**As the Workforce Planning and Development Manager, your key responsibilities will include**:
- Development, drafting and coordination of key reports, including workforce planning and development advice and strategies, environmental scans (including anticipating skills needs), industry surveys, discussion papers, procurement briefs and management of contractors.
- Contribute to the efficient knowledge management, processes and systems within Secretariat including responsibility for ensuring the integration of the results of engagement activities within projects.
- Develop and maintain networks and ensure the engagement methodology is relevant and facilitate the continued exchange of information between key internal and external stakeholders including employers, peak bodies, community organisations, training providers, professional networks and all levels of government.
- Support the development of industry and place-based approaches to workforce planning and development.
- Identify and critically analyse emergent issues that may impact upon the strategic direction and plans of the Secretariat.
- Evaluate ongoing performance of the legislative mandate by providing direction, guidance and leadership to staff, contractors and consultants and assess work performance and provide appropriate feedback.
- Provide high level advice to the Members and other key stakeholders relating to strategic and complex skilling and workforce planning issues.
- Prepare and coordinate briefing material, reports, submissions and correspondence for the Minister, senior departmental officers and Chair of on issues related to industry skills and workforce planning and development policy and projects.
- Work collaboratively across teams within and with external stakeholders to achieve stated outcomes.
- Contribute to and participate in promotional, public relations, marketing and awareness activities and represent the interests in a variety of forums on issues, including facilitating engagement activities using best practice methodologies.
**The successful applicant will demonstrate**:
- Demonstrated high level leadership and conceptual skills evidenced by a record of significant achievement and innovation in identifying skilling and workforce issues across a range of industries and, or regions and influencing outcomes that support strategic objectives within a broader operational and policy context in the Queensland labour market.
- Proven ability to provide high level advice to senior management and clients on a range of issues impacting policies relating to workforce planning and development and future skill needs of the workforce and apprenticeships and traineeships.
- Proven capacity to initiate, develop and maintain collaborative working relationships and partnerships with internal and external stakeholders utilising excellent engagement, negotiation team leadership skills to deliver high quality results in a fast paced work environment.
- Demonstrated capacity to work professionally and effectively under pressure, handle competing priorities, meet externally imposed deadlines and bring projects to completion either independently or as a member of a team.
- Demonstrated superior interpersonal and communication, facilitation, presentation, negotiation and consultation skills to produce complex workforce reports and a range of other documents (including submissions and briefing documents) which resonate with their target audience.
