NSW Department of Education has an exciting opportunity for a skilled and experienced individual to join the Infrastructure Planning team as an Assistant Project Officer.

School Infrastructure NSW (SINSW) is delivering new school buildings, major upgrades and maintenance strategies to ensure every school-aged child has access to high quality education facilities at their local public school. **About the role**

As an Assistant Project Officer, you will undertake a range of project research, analysis, reporting, implementation and administrative activities to support the development and delivery of projects and initiatives, in line with established objectives. A day in this role will involve:

- Provide project and operational support services to ensure project outcomes are achieved on time, on budget, to quality standards and within agreed scope, in line with established agency project management methodology.
- Undertake basic research and analysis in assigned project areas and contribute to the preparation of strategic advice, information and reports to support informed decision making and planning.
- Provide a range of administrative services, including coordinating working groups, committees and meetings, and contributing to the preparation of draft correspondence, papers and minutes, which support the strategic and operational objectives of the unit.
- Communicate with relevant stakeholders to provide updates regarding project status and implementation issues.
- Respond to routine queries to provide consistent advice and information.
- Coordinate and manage records and databases, complying with administrative systems, processes and policies to ensure that all information is accurate, stored correctly and accessible.

**Essential requirements of the role**_ _**
- Relevant qualifications and/or experience, preferably gained through the completion of a business-related tertiary qualification and supplemented by practical experience in a diverse and complex operating environment.
- Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to the value of public education
