**About the Role**

**This is a Fixed Term Position until 30 June 2025**

As the Project Officer for Central Geelong & Local, based in Melbourne CBD, you'll play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our rapidly expanding state by integrating land use to cultivate vibrant communities. Your responsibilities will span planning, facilitating, and delivering across various fronts, including housing, employment, industry, services, public spaces, and transportation, crucial for thriving precincts. Collaborating closely with planners in the planning and transport portfolio, as well as at state and local levels, you'll ensure seamless integration of transportation and land use. Your efforts will contribute to environmental, social, and economic development in locally significant precincts, fostering connected transport networks and implementing principles of 20-minute neighbourhoods. By translating the vision and goals outlined in Plan Victoria, the Central Geelong Framework Plan, Regional Growth Plans, and the Victorian Housing Statement into tangible actions, you'll shape our communities for the better.

**Position Outcomes / Accountabilities**

As a team member, you'll collaborate to rejuvenate local precincts, navigating government approval processes and crafting integrated land use and transportation plans. Taking the lead in assessing development options, you'll engage contractors, oversee project delivery, and assist in preparing feasibility information. Your advanced research skills will drive innovative solutions for housing, job, service, and infrastructure development, communicated effectively through briefs, reports, and presentations. Collaborating with government and external partners, you'll ensure project alignment with policies and objectives, monitoring performance and driving continuous improvement.

To excel, you'll align tasks with strategic objectives, guiding strategic planning and ensuring user needs are met with timely decisions and critical thinking. Managing projects, communicating persuasively, and contributing to policy development, you'll maintain clear communication for impactful presentations. On a personal level, you'll thrive in precinct planning, bringing drive and enthusiasm, leading through changing circumstances with flexibility and adaptability. Instilling purpose within the team, you'll make a positive impact on the community by aligning work with broader organizational goals.

**Qualifications and Experience**
**Mandatory**
- A relevant tertiary degree in the built environment, including, but not limited to, architecture, property development, planning, and urban design.
- Experience in precinct planning and delivery.
