**The Role**
Reporting to the Compliance Coordinator, located in Windsor you will be responsible for investigating, gathering evidence and monitoring unauthorised and non-complying development within the local government area. The role will play an integral part in educating and advising customers and residents of their obligations for development and building compliance, illegal developments and unlawful tree removal.
You will be working closely with other sectors of Council including Environmental Health and City Planning. This position will require some additional after hours and weekend work when required.
**About You**
**Essential Criteria**
- Tertiary qualifications in Building Surveying, Local Government investigations or experience in a related regulatory discipline, and a Class C Drivers Licence
- Demonstrated experience carrying out investigations in non-compliant, unauthorised activities and/or general enforcement matters in Local Government, or related field
- Demonstrated working knowledge of the Local Government Act, Environmental Planning and Assessment Act, Protection of the Environmental Operations Act and other relevant legislation applicable to development compliance
- Strong communication and negotiation skills and ability to resolve conflicts and deal with difficult customers
- Companion animal handling experience
