**ABOUT THE DIVISION**

Commercial Investments Division (CID) within Commercial Group at the Department of Finance supports delivery and oversight of a diverse set of relationships and commercial investments on behalf of the Australian Government and the Minister for Finance.

CID consists of five Branches: Communication and Energy Investments; Commercial Policy and Advice; Defence Investments; Specialist Investment Vehicles, Funds and Governance; and Transport Investments.

Commercial Investments Division provides influential policy and commercial advice in relation to nationally significant investments by the Commonwealth, including major infrastructure investment programs. The Division manage the Commonwealth’s multibillion shareholding in its Government Business Enterprises (GBEs), including ASC Pty Ltd, Australian Naval Infrastructure Pty Ltd, Defence Housing Australia, Australian Postal Corporation, NBN Co Limited, Snowy Hydro Limited, Australian Rail Track Corporation Limited, Moorebank Intermodal Company Limited and WSA Co Limited.

CID supports the development and implementation of several high priority Government Policy objectives. For example, CID supports the Nuclear Powered Submarine (NPS) Enterprise by providing advice to Government on decisions relating to the Enterprise’s capability and supporting enablers; assessing costs and risks associated with required Enterprise investments; analysing expenditure and policy issues relating to the Enterprise; providing advice on and managing the program’s interaction with GBE’s and commercial entities; and supporting the establishment of commercial arrangements and infrastructure to support delivery of the optimal pathway.

CID also manages and provides oversight of the Future Fund Management Agency, which has over $200 billion of funds under management. The agency is required to adopt a benchmark average return to enable the Government to meet critical funding requirements in future, including to meet unfunded liabilities, deliver sustainable housing, medical research, enhance drought and disaster resilience and preparedness, and to support states and territories to fund the National Disability Insurance Scheme.

**ABOUT THE** OPPORTUNITY**

Executive Assistants provide high-level administrative support to the Senior Executive Service (SES), and work closely with the Divisional Executive Officer and other Executive Assistants to ensure the Branch and Division is managed effectively and in a coordinated manner.

The Executive Assistant acts as the first point of contact for the relevant SES officer and their Branch, and their duties include:

- liaising with a variety of internal and external stakeholders
- monitoring and managing SES inboxes and calendars
- tracking and coordinating incoming and outgoing tasks at the Branch level, consolidating weekly reports, drafting meeting agendas and recording meeting minutes
- screening telephone calls and referring matters to relevant business areas
- arranging travel bookings and approvals for SES as required
- conducting quality assurance checks of documents that require SES clearance
- financial management activities (e.g. credit card reconciliation and stationery orders)
- records management
- assisting with any divisional tasks as required (e.g. urgent administrative tasks to support branch or divisional priorities)
- ad-hoc administrative tasks.
- On call and after-hours support may be required on occasion.
