**What the day will look like**:
The Pursuit Team (Bid Management) is part of Aon’s Growth Strategies team and performs a key role in new and retention opportunities. The team is made up of highly skilled, motivated and knowledgeable colleagues who use their knowledge of Aon, our clients and industries to propose a compelling value proposition. Based in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane and Perth, the Australia team is part of the wider Asia Pacific team and works closely with the wider global Pursuit community.

This Bid Manager role is instrumental to Aon’s growth agenda and the commercial success of Aon in the region. You will be responsible for assisting the Bid and Pitch process end-to-end, including strategic involvement in new client prospecting by assisting the sales teams across the region.
- Devise creative and effective proposals and tender responses, ensuring messaging is aligned to client value, crafting new standard methodology material.
- Collaborate with others to ensure that bids we deliver are outstanding.
- Work closely with the Content team to ensure re-usable content is added to our central library.
- Play a critical part of the firm's RFP process and you will work in partnership with Sales, Value Proposition, Product Specialists, Operations, Finance, Innovation and Distribution.
- Handle the project and workflow, supervising content delivery, status calls or 121's with team members and ensuring deadlines are comfortably met.
- Gather content and challenge received content related to tender requirement to prepare a specific commercial offer. Value the content delivery and support synthetic summary creation.
- Coordinate post-mortem RFP sessions to distil standard methodologies and improve the process and teach back to the rest of the team.
- Organise pitch rehearsals and coach presenters, including providing feedback, ideas, timing and delivery advice.
- Join regular Business Development or client meetings with some of Aon’s largest clients to gain an understanding of their needs and challenges.
- Regularly participate in training and reading Aon’s intellectual property to ensure you’re well versed in Aon’s solutions and point of view.

**Skills and experience that will lead to success**:

- Excellent bid and pursuit management capability in a financial services environment, preferably general insurance experience in a client or sales management role and experience of producing bids
- Strong bid process knowledge, including stakeholder engagement and writing - able to transform technical information into clear, compelling, succinct content for proposals
- Strong project management skills and strong organisational capability
- Strategic sales knowledge, including ability to identify client requirements and successfully articulate differentiators, benefits and win themes demonstrating our ability to meet client needs and requirements
- Sound organisational abilities and team management. Experience with supporting sophisticated opportunities with multiple partners within challenging timelines
- Exceptional eye for detail, able to spot errors and inconsistencies, i.e. strong proofreading skills
- Highly competent user of the Microsoft Office suite, including advanced Word and PowerPoint skills
- Team player, with a growth mindset and strong service excellence ethic and a desire to contribute to the firm by improving the quality and usability of bid content
