**Your new role**

Reporting to the Infringement Review Lead, the Infringement Review Officer is a member of a team responsible for the conduct of reviews of environmental, litter and motor vehicle infringements, where requested by the recipient, to assess validity consistent with the _Infringements Act 2006_. You will use your initiative to prioritise tasks and monitor workflow to drive improvements the quality of regulatory decision making and operations across EPA, enabling the organisation to better meet its strategic priorities to prevent harm to the environment and human health from pollution and waste.

Working under direction of the Infringement Review Lead, you will actively contribute to a positive organisational culture and achieve the highest standards of performance and integrity; fostering genuine partnerships across all levels of government, industry, and community to deliver organisational outcomes.

**What you’ll do**

Working under direction of the Infringement Review Lead, you will;
- Provide end-to-end management of infringement internal reviews within statutory timeframes.
- Consider new and existing evidence relating to the notice (including to support special circumstances), conduct witness assessments, refer to all relevant frameworks and liaise with internal and external stakeholders/experts including EPA’s Legal Branch, Victoria Police, VicRoads and the litter reporters prior to making sound decisions.
- Provide high quality written responses in line with the legislative guidelines, communicating the review outcomes.

**We are looking for an experienced individual with**:

- A relevant tertiary degree and/or post graduate qualifications in law, environmental science, quality management or a related discipline is desirable.
- Experience in an internal review, infringement, and assurance function, preferably within Government.
- An understanding of the _Environment Protection Act 2017_ and regulations, Victoria
- s environmental protection framework.
- Knowledge of environmental regulation as it related to pollution and waste, in particular infringements.
- An understanding of regulatory practice.
