HOBAN Recruitment is currently partnering with a respected **VIC Local Council **in the search for a highly capable individual to join as an **Infringement Review Office **located in **Greensborough, VIC.**

**About the role**:

- This position sits within the Corporate Information and Integrity Department, forming part of Council's broader Governance, Communications and Community Safety Directorate, with a key focus on delivering customer outcomes. The Department is focused on delivering industry-leading, modern compliance services that are customer focused and take a risk-based approach, with the aim to build organisational awareness and education to achieve corporate compliance.

**Duties and Responsibilities**:

- Ensuring the timely processing of incoming infringement correspondence, including:

- Infringement appeals: assess in line with Council's policies and procedures; prepare letters advising of Council's decision; and undertake necessary tasks to update records and databases.
- Produce Penalty Reminder Notices (PRNs), and Final Demand Notices (FDNs), and where appropriate lodge infringements in the Magistrate' Court.
- Nomination of drivers: ensure that written notice is issued to the nominated driver and that records and databases are updated.
- Provision of infringement review outcomes to the community.
- Collection and management of infringement related data.
- Provide technical advice and written responses to queries from internal and external customers and staff in line with legislation and Council guidelines, policy and procedure.
- Development of education and awareness resources for the community.
- Process, print and post out Penalty Reminder Notices (PRNs), and Final Demand Notices (FDNs) associated with infringements as per the requirements of the Infringement Act.
- Create and maintain proper internal review records which meet legislative requirements including the Public Records Act 1973. Records and outcome letters should include clear reasons for the decision and show that Council made the final decision.
- Meet the requirements of the Department of Transport (VicRoads) Information Protection Agreement (IPA) including security controls, reporting, auditing by VicRoads, breach notifications, storing of information protocols, etc.
- Create and maintain all administration documentation in relation to infringement review including hard copy files, Council's website material, flyers, etc. making sure it meets all current legislative requirements and Council's policy requirements.
- Investigate and problem-solve issues that arise during the internal review process and provide feedback to relevant Council teams where required
- Provide support to Council's infringements system across various Council departments including Animal, Parking, and Local Law infringements as per documented processes.
- Where appropriate, refer infringements to the Magistrate's Court.

**Qualifications and experience**:

- Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of legislation, guidelines and work practices relating to infringements, animal control, law enforcement, fire protection and road traffic control.
- Certificate IV in Statutory Compliance and/or equivalent relevant experience in an infringements environment.
