The Program Management Office provides high-quality services across multiple delivery teams and projects. Schedulers are required to maintain standards as well as provide guidance and expert advice to project managers and delivery partners and urgently needs a talented hands-on scheduler, with excellent stakeholder engagement skills, and who can support multiple project managers simultaneously.
In this role, you will need to have demonstrated experience with MS Project and MS Project Online as either a senior or superuser.
The Scheduler is to ensure that schedules are in place, appropriately tracked and reported on to assist with decision-making via, but not limited to:
- Maintaining standards, processes, and guides to support best practice.
- Ongoing collaboration with Project Managers and Subject Matter Experts.
- Ensuring that schedules are suitably detailed, baselined, and weekly progress is being tracked.
- Ensuring that critical path and interdependency activities are identified and tracked.
- Risks, issues and opportunities are identified and are tracked within schedules.
- Ensuring that the project plans are effectively resourced.
- Ensuring that Schedule analysis is regularly performed to formulate corrective actions.
- Ensuring that project and program reports are generated in a timely manner according to the reporting cycle, or ad-hoc requests as required.
**Responsibilities include**:
- Work closely with Project Managers / Schedule Owners to develop, track, and maintain detailed schedules using Microsoft Project Professional and Project Online.
- Provide direction/guidance/task allocation/resource profile views and reports to Project Managers.
- Assist in the maintenance of the Scheduling Standard, Schedule Templates, and Project Online Enterprise Global environment.
- Carry out schedule analysis to manage dependencies, risks, issues, and opportunities through effective tracking if tasks and milestones are being achieved in a timely manner.
- Work within a master schedule structure where multiple schedules are integrated, and rollup reporting is generated, maintaining the integrity of project-level schedules.
- Demonstrate a comprehensive understanding and ability to manage baselines and update status.
- Assist in the development and maintenance of summary-level schedule reports including milestones, dependencies, resource utilisation and critical path.
**Dependency management**:
- Assist in the maintenance of the dependency register.
- Assist in the facilitation of dependency identification, agreement, and delivery between stakeholders.
- Ensure alignment between the dependency register and detailed schedules.
- Assist in the production and maintenance of dependency reports.
**Mandatory Skills**
- Demonstrated experience with Microsoft Project Professional, Microsoft Project Online, and the PWA environment.
- Demonstrated experience in developing and maintaining multiple delivery schedules.
- Demonstrated experience of schedule planning and analysis techniques (e.g., critical path/chain analysis).
- Experience with various Software Development Lifecycles (SDLC).
- Experience with traditional and 'agile' ways of working.
- Demonstrated experience in maintaining a central resource pool and forward resource management.
- Demonstrated experience user of the Microsoft Office suite, including Visio.
- Competent in the implementation and adherence to schedule and dependency-related policies and procedures.
- Experience with document management and collaboration tools such as SharePoint, and MS Teams.
**Desirable Skills**
- Previous experience on large, multi-project ICT and transformation programs.
- Previous experience in establishing and maturing a scheduling capability within an organisation.
- Project Management training or certification (PMBOK, PRINCE2 similar).
- Exposure to reporting using Power BI or similar reporting tools.
