The Property and Leisure Services Branch is responsible for the management, planning and development of recreation, leisure and sporting assets for residents, workers and visitors to the City. The Recreation unit is responsible for driving positive social and health outcomes for the community through passive and active recreation opportunities.

This opportunity will suit an experienced recreation professional who has a strong understanding of strategic planning principles and has existing competency in the area of developing and managing occupancy agreements.

Some of the key duties of this position will include:

- Monitor, review and develop policies/strategic plans that respond to the changing recreation needs of the Yarra Community.
- Assist in the development of strategic framework to guide capital investment for Recreation facilities, services and opportunities.
- Develop and enhance procedures which support the implementation of policy objectives.
- Act as the primary point of contact within Council for liaison with non-seasonal sporting clubs and hirers.
- Develop and Manage facility hire agreements for sport facilities and pavilions.
- Draft Council reports and briefing papers, together with appropriate recommendations as required for consideration by the Coordinator Recreation.
- Lead stakeholder management and working groups as required as either the project owner or sponsor for strategic planning projects.
- Engage with facilities maintenance staff and contractors on a regular basis to ensure that recreation facilities are safe and fit for use.
- Support the implementation of the Club Development Framework, which addresses the areas of inclusion, diversity, community partnerships, strategic planning and governance.
