We have a newly created opportunity available for an External Maintenance Coordinator to join our team in Melbourne. This is a great role where you will be responsible for managing the performance of external service providers to ensure delivery in line with Jetstar’s operational requirements.

Reporting to the Manager - External Maintenance Line your key responsibilities will also include:

- Ensure Safety and Quality Management System compliance
- Support the delivery of business improvement projects and initiatives from conceptualisation through to implementation
- Work with our commercial team in negotiations with supplier contracts
- Support the establishment of new engineering vendors as the external maintenance capability continues to grow
- Manage contract deliverables and maintain effective working relationships with engineering vendors whilst ensuring service delivery within scope and budget
- Promote and maintain professional relationships with customers and stakeholders through continuous engagement, strong communications and site visits.
- Participate in investigations and implement mitigations where required
- Support ongoing business development and continual improvement with proactive fleet technical management within the Line Maintenance environment
- Provide and/or coordinate expert technical assistance to respective MRO’s as required and provide technical knowledge and skill to MRO maintenance activities
- Maintain JQ Mandatory training records for External MRO’s

In this role, you will flourish in a “hands on” environment by building relationships with various departments across the Jetstar business, all to make our operation work more efficiently. With demonstrated experience coordinating and building/maintaining internal and external stakeholder relationships this role has scope to grow and become a critical member of our Engineering function.

To be successful in this role, you will need to demonstrate the following skills, qualifications, and experience:

- Degree or Diploma or Cert IV or equivalent Airline Experience (highly regarded)
- Aviation Industry Experience, preferably in an operational airline role
- Sound experience managing supplier relationships and contract delivery (internally and externally)
- Project management (desired)
- Detailed understanding of airworthiness regulatory requirements for engineering maintenance organisations
- Strong negotiation skills and experience working projects (desired)
- Excellent communication skills with all customers internal and external
- Able to build effective working relationships and enjoys working as an individual or as part of a team
- Process-driven, with experience in constructing new processes to deliver business goals
