The team supports the partnership by providing the full spectrum of business development and marketing services to ensure the firm develops and maintains strong relationships with new and existing clients and supports its strategic objectives.
**Your Role**
An exciting 12 month fixed-term opportunity is available for an experienced Market Growth Manager or Consultant to support the business development and marketing strategy for the Commonwealth Government client account. Reporting to the Government Sector Lead, the successful applicant will also work very closely with the partnership group leading the Commonwealth Government.
The purpose of this role is to develop and lead the implementation of integrated sales and marketing plans that support the achievement of the Government Sector strategy and client growth objectives.
This opportunity is open to our Sydney, Canberra, Melbourne or Brisbane offices and will have a key focus on strategy development and driving growth with our government clients in the Canberra market. This key client facing role will be pivotal in supporting Partners to assess opportunities, formulate client responses, manage key pursuits and tenders, whilst leveraging support from Major Proposals and Centre of Excellence teams.
In this role you will have the opportunity to:
- Work as a trusted adviser to the Commonwealth Government leaders in the development and implementation of focussed, integrated marketing and business development plans that support the achievement of the Commonwealth Government business strategy
- Support Partners in assessing sales opportunities and formulating responses to clients, including management of key pursuits, preparing tender responses and supporting documents and leveraging support from major pursuits and proposals team as appropriate
- Foster relationships both in Government team and the broader Client and Market group that are collaborative, innovative and value adding and ensure high quality service delivery to the Government Group
- Engage with Partners and Lawyers to leverage marketing and sales activities to generate client demand
- Facilitate the capture of business opportunities for Government into a formalised sales pipeline to enable reporting against business objectives
- Measure, report and assess effectiveness of marketing and sales initiatives including identifying and incorporating continuous improvement into future activities
- Contribution to supporting the Government group achieve their revenue budget
**More About You**
You will bring your professional services business development and client management experience, knowledge of working in a similar environment and capability to truly shape the role.
- At least 5 years previous Manager business development/Marketing experience. Experience within a professional services environment is highly desirable.
- Tertiary qualifications in Marketing, Communications or Business or a related discipline (can be in addition to a law or business unit related degree).
- Previous experience within a government/tender based role.
- Sound understanding on how government/s operate and do business.
- Strong influencing skills to manage multiple virtual teams of senior stakeholders nationally. The role requires effective interaction with many senior stakeholders across the firm and peers.
- Agility to work with the Partners nationally to develop strategies for key clients by building relationships with clients and industry/market leaders.
- Ability to work within in a matrix management structure.
- Confidence to arrange and participate in internal and external client meetings.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with strong attention to detail.
- Highly proactive with a client service focus.
