The Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (Ahpra) works in partnership with 15 National Boards to implement the national regulatory scheme for health professionals. The purpose of health practitioner regulation is to protect the public by ensuring that only health practitioners who have the skills, qualifications and knowledge to provide safe care are registered.

Reporting to the Practice Manager, National Legal Practice; the Panel Hearings Coordinator is responsible for ensuring the effective alignment with Panel Hearing KPI’s and providing case management support to the establishment, management and conduct of panel hearings in collaboration with the responsible in-house lawyer. The Panel Coordinator is also responsible for providing broader Paralegal support to the practice including background research, preparation of evidentiary certificates, briefs and other materials and mentoring staff.

**This is a full time, permanent role within the Legal Service. This role may be based in Brisbane, Adelaide, Melbourne, Perth, or Sydney.**

**In this role you will**:

- Autonomously facilitate all matters referred for a panel hearing, including background research, investigating precedents and drafting materials for lawyers, scheduling and conduct of Panel hearings and managing Panel outcomes and communications; to facilitate achievement of relevant KPIs and to maximise the effective use of resources.
- Take responsibility for complex tasks including background research; extensive document management, review and compilation; the preparation of materials for external information release, including preparation of evidentiary certificates when required.
- Responsible for the identification and development of opportunities to improve the efficient management of Panel hearings, the effective operations of the National Legal Practice and enhance collaboration across Regulatory Operations, including the identification, development and review of policies, procedures and guidelines and identification of opportunities for active collaboration.
- Diploma/Degree in Business Administration or Paralegal qualifications or equivalent and/or relevant experience.
- Demonstrated experience in the provision of high-quality administrative support in a complex work and high-volume environment.
- Demonstrated experience in providing support across the full range of legal administrative activities, including but not limited to, case management, correspondence, document management, legal research, and.
- Demonstrated experience providing quality customer service in a complex, time pressured environment, including the ability to prioritise workload in response to time critical targets.
