**The Opportunity**:
We are seeking a suitably qualified Associate Director with a strong client focus, excellent communication skills and the ability to deliver technical excellence to join our Melbourne practice as part of the wider national heritage team. We are looking for someone with a passion for built heritage who is wanting to develop their career. As a key member of the management team, you will have the opportunity to work across a diverse range of projects, contributing to reports and providing advice to our clients.
The role will be supported by highly experienced Directors and a market-leading heritage team. Key projects the national heritage team have collaborated on recently include the Sydney Opera house, the Intercontinental Hotel, the Lands and Education Buildings, and the Butterfly Room at the State Theatre.

**You will**:

- Provide expert heritage advice to clients on a range of projects.
- Establish strong relationships with clients and other stakeholders.
- Play a lead role in supporting staff growth and development.
- Provide technical and management support to the Heritage team.
- Help drive business growth and strategic development of our Melbourne Heritage offering.

**About You**:
This position would suit someone who has a minimum of ten years' experience in a similar role with a combination of the following competencies:

- In-depth understanding of heritage principles and statutory heritage legislation.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Advanced ability to interpret complex heritage issues, provide strategic advice to clients and negotiate outcomes with stakeholders.
- Excellent client, project and time management skills.
- Advanced understanding of Australian architectural history, fabric analysis and building conservation.
- Ability to manage multiple projects within timeframe and budget.

Other non-essential but beneficial skills and qualifications applicable to the role (depending on background and experience) include:

- Masters in heritage conservation or similar.
- Architect or heritage architecture experience.
- Current driver's licence.
