The portfolio of External Engagement is responsible for connecting the University with core stakeholders including philanthropists, alumni, government, volunteers, the media, and the broader community. It is made up of six collaborative and high performing teams: Strategic Communications, Development, Centre for Ideas, News and Content, External Engagement and Operations.

The Communications Coordinator (Internal) delivers internal communications across the University and within their designated Divisions. This role will work closely with External Engagement teams to ensure best practice, coordination with other Faculties and Divisions and sharing of ideas.

The Communications Coordinator (Internal) will report to the Head of Communications and has no direct reports.

**Responsibilities**
- Participate fully within the Corporate Communications Unit, contributing to creating a respected and valued service. Deliver a highly customer-focused service and demonstrate commitment to excellence and continuous improvement.
- Coordinate University-wide internal communications including Inside UNSW, all-staff messages, and Divisional messages.
- Develop and maintain a range of internal communications tools, documents, and user guides to ensure they support effective communication
- Work with the Student Communications team to ensure student and staff messages are coordinated, aligned, and repurpose content as required.
- Implement the agreed internal communications plan in your designated area.
- Provide advice to stakeholders in your area on internal communications, including most appropriate channels to deliver effective and targeted messages to relevant audiences. Liaise with relevant stakeholders to develop and disseminate content.
- Utilise quantitative and qualitative data to continually enhance UNSW internal communications channels.

**Skills and Experience**
- A relevant tertiary qualification with demonstrated experience or an equivalent level of knowledge gained through any combination of education, training and experience.
- Demonstrated experience of delivering and measuring internal communications programs that support transformational change within a complex organisational environment.
- Ability to analyse data and report on staff internal communications channels
- Understanding of the target audience, with a highly effective writing style in high-impact messaging to internal audiences.
- Demonstrated experience in distilling complex information into simple messages for communication to a diverse group of stakeholders.
- Proven ability to liaise effectively with internal and external stakeholders, to achieve desired outcomes.
- Solid writing and editing as well as attention to detail
- Strong time management and ability to work to deadlines
- Multitasking on a number of projects simultaneously
- Ability to develop internal project and communications plans
- Platforms - helpful but not mandatory: Microsoft Office, EDM and CMS platforms, Slido and Photoshop
