The Office for the Early Years provides strategic leadership of the early years system in South Australia as well as supporting the delivery of key early years services. The office is leading the government’s relationship with the Royal Commission into Early Childhood Education and Care.

The Principal Research and Evaluation Officer will work with the Assistant Director, Data Sharing and Analytics, to initiate, coordinate undertake a program of rigorous research and evaluation in support of the government’s response to the Royal Commission.

The Principal Research and Evaluation Officer will work collaboratively across the department and the government to provide accurate and timely analysis based on the best available data and evidence.

**Qualifications**:
**Essential**: A relevant tertiary qualification in social sciences, mathematical sciences, business administration or human resources.

**Special Conditions**:
The successful applicant is required to gain a Department for Human Services (DHS) working with children check (WWCC) prior to being employed which is required to be renewed every five years before expiry. The incumbent will be required to undertake RRHAN -EC (Responding to Risks of Harm, Abuse and Neglect - Education Care) Facilitator Lead (Masterclass) extended course or the online (Fundamentals) course which will be required to be updated every three years.
