The Women's and Children's Health Network provides state of the art health care for women and children in Adelaide and South Australia.

We are the state’s leading provider of specialist care for children with acute and chronic conditions and SA’s largest maternity and obstetric service. We also provide important community-based services of which the Child and Family Health Service (CAFHS) is an integral part.

The **Child and Family Health Service (CaFHS)** is a free statewide service that supports parents and families of children from birth to five years of age, who live across metropolitan, regional and rural areas in South Australia.

With over 100 clinics across South Australia, CaFHS helps parents and families to understand their child’s health, development, and wellbeing needs, which can include breastfeeding, sleeping, settling, introducing solids, parenting and play and development. Each year, CaFHS provides over 75,000 family consultations via in clinic or at home appointments, telehealth (phone) or virtually.

South Australia records approximately 20,000 births each year and CaFHS offers an in home initial 4 health and development check at 1 to 4 weeks of age, to support the infant and family’s health, wellbeing and development. Further health and development checks are offered at 6-8 weeks, 6-9 months, 18-24 months, 3 years and 4 to 5 years. For children with ongoing or complex needs, CaFHS can refer families to other healthcare and community service supports.

We have an exciting short term long service leave backfill opportunity.

**About the Role**

The Principal Project Officer is responsible for providing a leadership role in the development, scoping, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of identified priority projects and initiatives that support CaFHS and WCHN Community Services to deliver against the Community Services Strategy, WCHN Strategy 2026 and operational / business goals and priorities.

The Principal Project Officer is responsible for providing a comprehensive project management and coordination role, including the provision of advice and support to other project leads, managers and leadership to support achievement of agreed goals and priorities.

The Principal Project Officer is responsible for developing and maintaining engagement with key stakeholders and partners, within CaFHS, across WCHN community services and the wider network; with other departments including but not limited to the Department of Human Services, Department for Child Protection and the Department for Education as well as key non-government agencies, research bodies and other partners/stakeholders
