Are you passionate about leveraging data to drive positive outcomes for children's development? Are you experienced in designing and implementing data management systems? The Office for the Early Years is seeking a skilled and visionary Principal Data Management Officer to lead the development and implementation of a comprehensive data collation, monitoring, and reporting system for our expanding Child Development Checks (CDCs) program.

Key responsibilities will include:

- Lead and coordinate the development of a data reporting system by managing the scoping of the business needs, documenting data capture and reporting requirements in relation to Child Development Checks (CDCs).
- Research, develop, pilot and evaluate options for data reporting systems that streamlines reporting of CDCs, which are undertaken by the within and outside the department.
- Provide specialised advice and recommendations on data research, collection, storage, and reporting of CDCs provided by the department and external agencies such as Child and Family Health Service (CaFHS).
- Scope the needs to the Universal Service Commissioning team in terms of data collection and reporting to ensure there is a robust system which can be used to report at multiple levels of the organization, including the Head of the Office of the Early Years, as well as to external stakeholders such as CaFHS.
- Provide expert advice on data systems to the Assistant Director of Data Sharing and Analytics with recommendations, on the development of a data reporting systems.
- Develop data frameworks and protocols to ensure data process are aligned to organisational and the Privacy Act 1988.
- Prepare reports and briefings on data reporting systems, training materials and reports on areas relating to data management, evaluating, and analysing data reporting systems developed by the Universal Services Commissioning and make recommendations to streamline data reporting, as well as the development of a data platform for the storage of data.
- Initiate, build and maintain positive relationships and networks across with key external stakeholders gathering relevant and accurate information to assist with the identification and analysis of issues, critical risks, reporting needs to facilitate decision making for data management systems.

**Qualifications**:

- Desirable a relevant Tertiary Qualification in social sciences, mathematical sciences, business administration or data science.

The successful applicant is required to gain a Department for Human Services (DHS) working with children check (WWCC) prior to being employed which is required to be renewed every five years before expiry. The incumbent will be required to undertake RRHAN -EC (Responding to Risks of Harm, Abuse and Neglect - Education Care) Facilitator Lead (Masterclass) extended course or the online (Fundamentals) course which will be required to be updated every three years.
