The Department for Infrastructure and Transport (DIT) has diverse responsibilities for transport systems and services, infrastructure planning and provision within South Australia.

**Duties**
The Assistant Project Officer is accountable to the Executive Officer, LGGC, for the provision of administration services and project support to the South Australian Local Government Grants Commission and the South Australian Local Government Boundaries Commission (the Commission).

The Assistant Project Officer provides project and administrative support to the Commission, the Executive Officer, the Senior Project Officer and Senior Policy Officer in supporting the work of the Commission in relation to the Financial Assistance Grants (FA Grants) and associated grants programs and boundary change proposals.

This includes, but is not limited to assisting the Senior Project Officer by assisting with and conducting projects relating to the Commission’s FA Grant recommendations, grant distribution methodology and other grant programs including the Roads to Recovery Program and Supplementary Local Roads Program. The Assistant Project Officer will also assist the Senior Policy Officer with responsibility for specific areas of boundary change proposals, responsibility for assisting with projects to review the Commission’s boundaries Guidelines, manage correspondence, liaising with councils and residents of areas affected by boundary change proposals, working with investigators and DIT Communications.

The Assistant Project Officer is also responsible for coordination of the Commission’s visiting program, responsibility for the Commission’s regular meeting schedules and minutes for Commission meetings, assisting the Senior Project Officer with the Commission’s annual return cycle, assisting the Senior Policy Officer with boundary change proposals, responsibility for the Commission’s records management processes and files, web pages, liaison with councils in relation to requirements under the grant programs administered by the Commission and boundary change proposals submitted, providing support to the Office of Local Government, and the Local Government Policy Unit (LGPU).

The Assistant Project Officer also deals with general enquiries and other matters from members of the general public, councils and Commissioners, liaising with senior staff, undertaking research and project work and other administrative matters related to the Commission or the Office of Local Government as required. The Assistant Project Officer may be reassigned for development opportunities, backfilling or changes to business requirements.

**Requirements**:

- Driver’s licence (unrestricted C-class) may be required.
- Experience in the use of Office 365 products, particularly, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook
and MS Teams.

**Special Conditions**

Some out of hours and weekend work, along with some intra/interstate travel may be required.

**Remuneration**
ASO4 - $74,315 to $77,901 per annum
