Support Officer

Provide high quality, confidential administrative support services to the regional office as required.
- Assist the Manager, Business Support in the planning and coordination of business support activities and functions for the region.
- Ensure the security and confidentiality of documentation is managed appropriately and regional electronic filing systems are operating effectively.
- Provide accurate and timely human resource (HR) services and advice including recruitment, payroll and flexible work arrangements, in accordance with relevant legislation, directives, policies and procedures.
- Provide accurate and timely financial accounting services and advice, including accounts payable and receivable, debt management, ledger maintenance and corporate card monthly reconciliations.
- Research and prepare a wide range of correspondence, reports and documentation, ensuring compliance with the departmental style guide and relevant timeframes.
- Liaise with key internal and external stakeholders to ensure that any information required is provided in a timely and accurate manner.
- Conduct quality checks on financial, HR and clinical education administrative forms.
- In consultation with regional managers, schedule and plan meetings, forums and events and book and coordinate travel for regional staff in line with relevant QAS policies and procedures.
- Liaise with functional areas to ensure effective organisation of training programs and activities.
- Evaluate administrative systems and processes and recommend business improvements that may ensure better system functionality and enhance service delivery.
- Adhere to QAS policies and procedures at all times and escalate any identified issues to the relevant manager.
- Actively demonstrate and promote the QAS's approach of zero tolerance towards violence and commit to supporting those affected by domestic and family violence in accordance with QAS policies and mechanisms. Model and influence a workplace culture of gender equality, respectful relationships, diversity, inclusion, employee safety and support.
- Fulfil the responsibilities of this role in accordance with Queensland Public Service and QAS values.

- Detailed knowledge, understanding and experience in the delivery of professional administrative services including financial and human resource management processes.
- Demonstrated high level attention to detail and the ability to plan and prioritise tasks to achieve required outcomes and meet deadlines.
- Demonstrated well developed communication, negotiation, consultation and collaboration skills and the ability to build and maintain productive relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- A highly motivated, energetic and proactive approach to work and a proven commitment to the provision of high-quality customer service.
- Proven ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
- Demonstrated commitment to implement practices which promote a fair and ethical workplace, employment equity, cultural diversity and occupational health and safety.
