As part of the passionate & values-driven Sales & Customer Solutions team, reporting directly to the Director, Retail & FMCG, your role as National Account Manager, Retail will be to build strategic partnerships with key retail clients, driving customer satisfaction, optimizing account performance, and ensuring sustainable growth. The role leads commercial opportunities, manages complex relationships, and collaborates with internal teams to deliver innovative, value-driven solutions for both CHEP and its customers.
The key responsibilities of this role include:
- _ Relationship Management_:_ Serve as the primary point of contact for selected strategic retail partners, fostering and maintaining strong, multi-level, and cross-functional relationships within the customer’s organization.
- _ Account Optimization_:_ Develop and implement tailored business plans for each account to drive customer satisfaction, account optimization, and long-term sustainable growth.
- _ Revenue Management_: Oversee the delivery of total budgeted revenue for assigned accounts, ensuring the achievement of financial targets.
- _ Commercial Leadership_:_ Lead commercial matters end-to-end, including tender processes, contract negotiations, and new business growth initiatives beyond core platforms in retail and related supply chains.
- _ Collaboration_:_ Work closely with internal teams such as the Asset Support Team and other customer contact teams to drive best practice in asset management and deliver exceptional service.
- _ Strategic Growth_:_ Identify and lead opportunities for growth, ensuring new business development and expanding partnerships with retail customers.
- _ Sustainability & Efficiency_:_ Partner with customers to drive improvements in sustainability, safety, and cost efficiency across their supply chains, aligning with CHEP’s sustainability goals.
What will ensure your success in the Role:
- A completed, relevant Tertiary Qualification is ideal, not essential
- Extensive working history in a Strategic Sales role, ideally within FMCG or Logistics
- Key Account/ Large and high-profile customer management experience essential
- Experience dealing with professional procurement functions
- Ability to engage customers to accurately identify business needs/problems to solve
- Sound commercial acumen, negotiation skills, analytical mindset & self-motivated to achieve results
