**The Role**

This senior leadership role is available due to an internal promotion.

Reporting to the General Manager - Retail, and with a team of two Assistant State Sales Managers and one Cluster Manager, you will drive the performance and profitability of the 38 Victorian and Tasmanian stores.

Critical to your success, will be your ability to:

- motivate and inspire your team to grow retail and trade sales
- deliver operational efficiency and consistency across all stores
- instill a high-performance culture across the store teams
- closely partner with Store Support stakeholders to continuously improve the region’s operations and sales

**Key responsibilities will include**:

- Achieving sales, stock, expense and profit contribution budgets
- Driving KPIs in your team, by developing, coaching, training and retaining a team of quality managers and team members in each store
- Understanding the local market whilst seeking opportunities to make industry contacts, drive sales performance and ultimately grow the business
- Supporting and driving success in specialist areas, including our lighting design studios
- Supporting the strategic activities focused on growing trade sales and market share
- Driving an in-store customer service culture by ensuring expert service levels and store merchandising standards are maintained
- Being an ambassador for Beacon Lighting’s vision, mission and core values
- Championing safety in the region
- Completing regular store visits to ensure standards are consistently maintained across all stores

**About You**

An experienced state, regional or area manager you have an extensive background in multi-site retail operations. Exposure to diverse customer environments which include transactional retail consumers as well as high frequency VIP trade customers will be highly advantageous. Your strong analytical skills, and proven business acumen and experience in operations are key to your success. You are a strategic planner who is decisive and proactive, developing long term business strategies in order to achieve business goals.

A natural leader, you build your teams effectively, motivating and inspiring others to achieve their best and execute strategies. With a positive attitude, exceptional interpersonal skills and clear communication skills, you provide effective feedback to manage and drive performance. Motivated to achieve results, you seek out opportunities to continually improve your skills and you have a genuine desire to learn.

You are also prepared to work occasional weekends, travel locally and interstate as required to conduct store visits, attend meetings and conferences.
