- Contribute to high-performing team passionate about delivering public health and health protection services- Based in Gippsland, Latrobe Regional Health are looking for a Public Health Officer to join our Gippsland Region Public Health Unit on a full-time or part-time basis for 24 months.- The GRPHU is led and coordinated by Latrobe Regional Health (LRH) is one of nine local public health units across Victoria working closely with the Department of Health in a state-wide system of public health delivery and response.- GRPHU works throughout the Gippsland region across the public health pillars of prevention, protection and promotion.- The Public Health Officer key responsibilities include tasks such as:- Conducting interviews with stakeholders, such as cases and clinicians, to collect information about conditions, including the identification of at-risk individuals and exposure pathways
- Providing public health advice and education to people at risk of all notifiable communicable diseases and external agencies who provide treatment and care to individual cases.
- Providing public health management and advice to sensitive settings (for example, residential aged care facilities, early learning centres, disability support services, etc) when in outbreak.**LRH employees enjoy access to**:

- A good understanding and knowledge of the principles and practices relating to health prevention and notifiable communicable diseases.
- A degree or qualification in public health or a related field
- Previous experience working in the public health field
- Ability to interact in an empathetic and non-judgmental manner with culturally diverse populations and persons experiencing a wide range of social conditions.
- Strong computer literacy including ability to use Microsoft Office (e.g., Word, Excel, Outlook) and Microsoft 365 platforms (e.g., Teams).
- Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work well as part of a team**About LRH**
