- The Gippsland Region Public Health Unit led by Latrobe Regional Hospital (LRH) are looking for a Prevention and Population Health Officer to join the GRPHU team full time or part time, on an ongoing basis.- You’ll play a vital role within the GRPHU to support the team in achieving outcomes and optimising public health outcomes for the community, and love the difference you can make every day you come to work.- You may already have experience in a similar role or could be looking for the next step in your career - either way you’ll be well supported by our welcoming and dedicated Prevention and Population Health team.- Reporting to the Prevention and Population Health Lead, this role plays an important role in identifying priorities for health promotion, primary prevention and early intervention to achieve outcomes consistent with the Victorian Public Health and Wellbeing Outcomes Framework.- This role takes into account the diversity of the local catchment; reducing health inequalities is a key objective of population health approaches, and factors such as gender equity and intersectionality will be important consideration in planning decisions and intervention design.-
- Demonstrate a sound knowledge of the principles and practices of population health, health promotion and chronic disease prevention;
- Contribute to the development of place-based health promotion projects including evaluation and monitoring
- Participate in and contribute to the development of improved population health in the region by working with key stakeholders
- In this position, the successful applicant will be working closely with existing Central Gippsland stakeholders across the Baw Baw and Latrobe catchment, the GRPHU regional teams and the community.**LRH employees enjoy access to**:
