Nursing Reference: 19021 Public Health Officer at Gippsland Region Public Health Unit Monday to Friday roster Full-time or part-time role Afterhours and weekend On-Call as required Contribute to high-performing team passionate about delivering public health and health protection services Based in Gippsland, Latrobe Regional Health are looking for a Public Health Officer to join our Gippsland Region Public Health Unit on a full-time or part-time basis for 24 months.

The GRPHU is led and coordinated by Latrobe Regional Health (LRH) is one of nine local public health units across Victoria working closely with the Department of Health in a state-wide system of public health delivery and response.

GRPHU works throughout the Gippsland region across the public health pillars of prevention, protection and promotion.

The Public Health Officer key responsibilities include tasks such as: Conduct ing interviews with stakeholders, such as cases and clinicians, to collect information about conditions , including the identification of at-risk individuals and exposure pathways Providing public health advice and education to people at risk of all notifiable communicable diseases and external agencies who provide treatment and care to individual cases.

Consistently appl ying communicable disease prevention and control policy, protocols and program guidelines as per existing documents.

Provid ing public health management and advice to sensitive settings (for example, residential aged care facilities, early learning centres, disability support services, etc) when in outbreak.

A degree or qualification in public health or a related field Previous experience working in the public health field Ability to interact in an empathetic and non-judgmental manner with culturally diverse populations and persons experiencing a wide range of social conditions.

Strong computer literacy including ability to use Microsoft Office (e.g., Word, Excel, Outlook) and Microsoft 365 platforms (e.g., Teams).
