**About the Role**
This is an exciting role for someone passionate about entrepreneurship. You will lead and expand the Velocity Program, which is a part-time program for early-stage start-up founders. The role will see you support the delivery of the vision and mission of the Melbourne Accelerator Program (MAP) & the Melbourne Entrepreneurial Centre (MEC), which anchors its reputation as a world-class entrepreneurship program.

You will get the opportunity to join a growing program and impact the start-up/entrepreneurial landscape at the University.

Your responsibilities will include:

- Lead the successful delivery of the MAP Velocity Program
- Design and implementation of the Velocity recruitment and selection process
- Develop and maintain mentoring opportunities
- Develop strategic relationships with stakeholders

**Who we are looking for**
Are you a natural people-person with exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to develop and nurture relationships with a broad range of stakeholders? You should also be highly organised with highly-developed planning skills and a creative approach to problem-solving that enables you to manage competing priorities to meet deadlines. You are an excellent communicator and can produce high-quality written content including reports and documentation as well as deliver engaging public presentations.

You will also have:

- Relevant postgraduate qualifications with extensive relevant experience and management expertise or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training.
- Awareness and experience of the entrepreneurship environment in Melbourne or similar, and a demonstrated understanding of the key elements of the process of forming a new business (preferably obtained through direct experience).
- Demonstrated experience working with entrepreneurs
- Demonstrated ability to develop and operationalise strategy.
- Experience in managing projects, preparing and monitoring budgets, and reporting against budget.

The Melbourne Accelerator Program (MAP) was launched in 2012 as the first University-aligned accelerator in Australia. Powered by the University of Melbourne, MAP has supported over 240 startups that have raised over $250 million in funding, generated over $250 million in revenue, and created over 1,500 jobs. Each year 10 teams are selected to take part in the five-month MAP Accelerator Program, where they receive mentoring from some of Australia’s most brilliant business minds, as well as access to a global network of advisors, channel partners and investors, and $20,000 in funding (with no equity taken) to help accelerate their startup growth.
