**The Role**
Make a difference in our community

To perform all duties and responsibilities of an authorized officer under the provisions of the Food Act, Public Health and Wellbeing Act, Tobacco Act, Environment Protection Act and any other health legislation applicable to this role.

To minimise public health and environmental hazards to protect the health of residents within the City of Whittlesea.

**About you**
- You have Diploma or Degree in Applied Science (Environmental Health), and eligible to join Environmental Health Professionals Australia.
- Good knowledge of the relevant public health legislation and the ability to assess and interpret such legislation and the underlying legal principles.
- Good oral and written communication skills
- Must be able to liaise effectively with their counterparts in other organisations to discuss and resolve specialist problems, and with other employees within their own organisation to resolve intra-organisational problems
