EstimateOne is an Australian born SaaS platform and one of AFR’s 2022 Best Places to Work in Australia and NZ. Headquartered in Richmond, Melbourne, our ambition is to become the global industry standard procurement platform in the commercial construction industry.
We’re the market leaders in Australia & NZ, and are now extending our product into the UK. Last year we secured $20M in new investment to support our strategy, so it’s a really exciting time to be joining us.
At EstimateOne, we believe that by looking after our whole ecosystem of users, and balancing the needs of our team, our shareholders and the industry, we can achieve our vision to become a global leader in construction technology; famous for the positive impact on the industry we serve. To do that we'll need to make sure we're unlocking value from what we've already built while also inventing new stuff. It's equal parts optimisation and innovation.
Our established scale up vibe keeps things lively. We’ve come a long way in 15 years, and seeing what we’ve achieved in that time, get’s us pretty excited for the next 15. We’re passionate about transparent and fair expectations and results and we have a commitment to creating a career defining place to work for all of our team.
**About the role**:
We are seeking an individual who will be instrumental in driving the growth of EstimateOne’s takeoff and estimating software solutions for the commercial construction industry. As the Market Development Lead, your primary focus will be to generate business development opportunities and identify key customers within our subcontractor audience. You will leverage your background in takeoff and estimating to build relationships, negotiate, and promote the product's value.
This role requires a strong blend of industry knowledge and sales acumen, as you will be responsible for the entire sales cycle, including identifying prospects, conducting market research, analysing trends, and presenting solutions to meet the needs of our target audience. You will also play a key role in gathering customer insights to inform future product developments and market strategies, ensuring the company's long-term success. The key responsibilities include:
- **Business Development (sell)**:
- Identify and cultivate relationships with subbies, or other stakeholders that can facilitate market entry or expansion.
- Work on establishing partnerships, alliances, or distribution channels that support market development efforts.
- **Market Research and Analysis (hunt)**:
- Conduct market research to identify potential new markets, segments, or customer bases that the company can target.
- Monitor industry trends, competitor activities, and customer needs to uncover growth opportunities.
- Evaluate the feasibility and potential ROI of entering new markets or expanding in existing ones.
- **Performance Monitoring (track)**:
- Monitor the performance of market development initiatives, tracking key metrics such as market penetration, sales growth, and customer acquisition.
- Continuously assess the effectiveness of strategies and make necessary adjustments based on market feedback and results.
**About you**:
- You have experience in takeoff and estimating, with a solid understanding of the commercial construction industry.
- You've got the Sales DNA - you're a hunter, you see opportunities, you step into challenges, you love the win. With this, you can demonstrate strong sales acumen, along with the ability to hit targets.
- You are able to analyse market trends and identify new opportunities.
- You are highly collaborative, and enjoy working alongside other sales teams and senior leadership.
- You are self-motivated, organised, and results-oriented.
- You can quickly adapt to and grasp new technologies and market insights.
- You are comfortable in a role that blends market research with business development.
