**The Organisation & Location**
The City of Canterbury Bankstown is the largest local council in NSW (by population) with over 370,000 residents, spread across 5 wards (40 suburbs). It is a residential, commercial and industrial area that spans 110km2. It boasts one of the most multi-cultural communities in the world, with residents from over 160 different countries. This vacancy is based within Council’s main office, located in Bankstown (Greater Sydney), based in the centre of the CBCity Local Government Area (LGA) and conveniently accessible to many parts of Sydney

**Primary Purpose**
The Place Coordinator is responsible for improving the look and feel of our town centres and open spaces across our local government area, focusing on place-based management, ensuring that we meet community needs and expectations. Collaborating with key stakeholders internally and externally to ensure services are aligned with strategic plans that meet community expectations, with a strong focus on relationships, monitoring, reporting, data and promotions. This position reports into the Coordinator Place Improvement.

**Duties**
- Coordinate, support and encourage cooperation across different Council business units to improve service and activity standards that contribute to how town centres and open spaces are cleaned and maintained.
- Implement and manage place-based audit programs to achieve high service standards and customer satisfaction, this includes continuously reviewing service levels to ensure they align with internal and external expectations.
- Work across the organisation at all levels on continuous improvement of systems and processes that impact on whole of place management.
- Manage the facilitation of action plans and rapid response with other business units as required.
- Develop and monitor business and community engagement programs.
- Assist with place-based data collection, identification and interpretation

**About You**
Due to the broad nature of this role, any of the following backgrounds would be suitable; Strategic Planning, Placemaking, Precinct Manager, Senior Facilities Manager, Business Improvement, Real Estate, Quality Assurance of Infrastructure Projects etc.

You will also boast:

- Strong communication, stakeholder engagement and relationship building skills
- Strategic, innovative and pro-active thinking skills
- The ability to improve outcomes, by identifying synergies and efficiencies (better ways of working), including aligning external expectations to internal staff/team output
- Demonstrated experience in change management, continuous business improvement, and/or digital transformation of processes/operations
- A valid C Drivers Licence, with a great driving record
