**The Organisation & Location**
The City of Canterbury Bankstown is the largest local council in NSW (by population) with over 370,000 residents, spread across 5 wards (40 suburbs). It is a residential, commercial and industrial area that spans 110km2. It boasts one of the most multi-cultural communities in the world, with residents from over 160 different countries. This vacancy is based within Council’s main office, located in Bankstown (Greater Sydney), based in the centre of the CBCity Local Government Area (LGA) and conveniently accessible to many parts of Sydney.
**The Team Structure**
This position reports into the Manager of City Improvement. You will lead a team of 5 staff: x1 Place Coordinator (Local Businesses), x2 Place Coordinators (Town Centres & Open Spaces) and x2 Field Officers.
**Primary Purpose**
The Coordinator Place Improvement is tasked with improving and aligning the services that contribute to the management (maintenance and cleansing) of Council assets across the LGA (Town Centres and Open Spaces) to satisfactorily meet community needs and expectations.
**Duties**
- Lead a small team of professionals to drive a place-based and customer-centric service culture to achieve great places that are well-managed and contribute to positive customer experiences.
- The team will inspect places (areas/assets) for future improvement purposes across the LGA, coupled with reviewing data such as KPI’s and community feedback on service standards, to identify gaps in the services provided (actual vs expectations).
- Strategic thinking is required to identify and implement better ways of working (process improvement/business improvement).
- Building relationships across the entire organisation and ensuring that internal staff are held to account.

**About You**
Due to the broad nature of this role, any of the following backgrounds would be suitable; Placemaking, Precinct Manager, Senior Facilities Manager, Business Improvement, Real Estate, Strategic Planning, Quality Assurance of Infrastructure Projects etc. You will also boast:
- Strong communication, stakeholder engagement and relationship building skills
- Strategic, innovative and pro-active thinking skills
- The ability to improve outcomes, by identifying synergies and efficiencies, whilst aligning external expectations to internal staff/team outputs
- A valid C Drivers Licence, with a great driving record
