**The Opportunity**

The role will report to the Team Leader Litter Prevention and will liaise with the Metropolitan Waste Resource Recovery Group, Sustainability Victoria, Environment Protection Authority, and the Litter Enforcement Officer Network to ensure a coordinated statewide approach of best practice litter prevention.

**Key Responsibilities**
- Provide guidance and assistance to resident, rate payers developers, builder’s and visitors in relation to compliance matters.
- Conduct prompt response and timely investigation into complaints received including appropriate customer feedback.
- Plan time effectively and actively patrol municipal district as rostered or required to ensure compliance with the legislation, issuing notices and infringement notices where necessary in accordance with the standard operating procedures.
- Conduct inspections and audits of developments and building sites and other tasks relating to the Act and Council’s Building Site Amenity Program.

**About you**

**_ To be successful in this role you will have the following:_**
- A Certificate IV in Statutory Compliance (Government) or similar qualification in Government or Civil Investigations with relevant experience or substantial experience working in law enforcement environment and/or environmental protection.
- Participating in impounding abandoned shopping trolleys, being confident in hitching, reversing, and towing a trailer.
- High level of oral and written communication skills when communicating with internal staff, customers and representing in Court setting.
- Respond to highly emotional residents at Council offices and in the municipality, consistently representing Council in a professional manner.
- Current valid Victorian Driver’s Licence.
- Must hold or be able to obtain an Employee Working with Children Check.
