**The Opportunity**

We currently have a new Health Support Project Officer position (reporting to the Team Leader, Community Health Promotion) within our Social Planning and Wellbeing team. Promote and support immediate and long-term community health and wellbeing outcomes as identified in the Council Wellbeing Plan.

This role will work with collaboratively with the Melton Food Systems Collective and Melton City Council to support the planning and delivery of evidence-based health and wellbeing initiatives, supporting food access across the City of Melton. To be successful in this role, you will be a self-motivated person with a demonstrated understanding of project planning, implementation and evaluation in community settings, preferably with a preventative health background and knowledge of food systems.

**Key Responsibilities**
- Promote and support immediate and long-term community health and wellbeing outcomes, as identified in the Council and Wellbeing Plan and through the Melton Food Systems Collective.
- Contribute to the planning, implementation and evaluation of community health and wellbeing initiatives, as related to local food systems, throughout the municipality.
- Keep up to date with current trends and actively engage and consult with key community stakeholders, to support the identification of local health and wellbeing needs, with a focus on equitable food access, food security and the Melton food system context.
- Develop and maintain partnerships with internal and external stakeholders to collaborate, identify and respond to emerging community food system changes and trends, including participation, admin and support in relevant meetings and activities.

**About you**

**_ To be successful in this role you will have the following:_**
- Tertiary qualification in health promotion, public health, health / social science, community development, a related field or a lesser qualification with relevant work experience.
- Additional certifications or training in food systems, sustainable agriculture, community development, or related areas may be beneficial.
- Experience in program / project planning, implementation and evaluation, preferably in a community setting.
- Experience working with diverse communities, including marginalized or underserved populations, to address food access and equity issues.
- Experience working with stakeholders and the community to collaboratively promote community health and wellbeing.
- Current valid Victorian Driver’s Licence.
- Must hold or be able to obtain an Employee Working with Children Check.
