**About us**
The Department of Customer Service (DCS) is transforming the way NSW Government agencies interact with customers and is passionate about putting the customer at the centre of everything it does and adopting state of the art technologies to make government work better.

Better Regulation Division (BRD) works across a broad portfolio of functions and projects to deliver better regulation in NSW. BRD includes regulators such as Safework NSW and NSW Fair Trading. These regulators are modern, innovative and collaborative, competitive for businesses, responsive to customers’ needs, protect the community and give people confidence to engage in economic and social activities.

The Research and Evaluation Group consists of the Centre for Work Health and Safety (the Centre), the World Congress team, and the Evaluation team. The Centre leverages cutting edge research and data to create awareness, suggest smarter approaches and bring about behaviour change in work health and safety in NSW. The World Congress team is responsible for organising the 23rd World Congress on Health and Safety at Work, which will take place in Sydney on the 27 - 30 November 2023. The Evaluation team is responsible for the design, the planning, and the delivery of the evaluation of key programs and initiatives in BRD. It also provides advisory services in BRD regarding program planning and evaluation.

**The opportunity**
The Evaluation team is looking for a skilled and enthusiastic Project Officer, expert in the evaluation process, well avert in methods and stakeholder engagement both at operational and executive levels. The role will support the evaluation of regulatory initiatives across BRD, and needs someone with great communication skills, business acumen and advanced management skills to support the planning and lead the delivery of some of the evaluation work.

**The role responsibilities will include**:

- Evaluation planning and delivery
- Quantitative and qualitative analysis
- Stakeholder consultation, including focus groups, interviews and survey design
- Report writing, both at technical and executive levels
- Provision of evaluation advice and support

**To be successful in this role, you will need**:

- Demonstrated skills in quantitative and qualitative analysis
- Strong organisational and project management skills, with significant experience in consultation design (using survey, focus groups, interviews) and evaluation planning and delivery
- Strong written communication skills, including report writing, for different audiences.
- Strong verbal communication, presentation and stakeholder consultation skills, for different audiences
- Ability to work on multiple projects concurrently and manage competing priorities
- Problem solving skills, flexibility and initiative
- Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team
