About the team:


At Service NSW, the role of Assistant Project officer can be found in multiple teams with different functions and responsibilities for each.

While not an exhaustive list, the following teams will be part of this recruitment drive:

Service Delivery Operations - Workforce Capability and Capacity

Service Delivery Contact Centres - Business Operations


This team provides comprehensive analysis to support the delivery of new and rapid business deployments, campaigns and improvements to the Agency and other agency clients.

The Assistant Project Officer undertakes a range of project research, analysis, reporting, implementation and administrative activities to support this.

About the role:


The Assistant Project Officer undertakes a range of project research, analysis, reporting, implementation, and administrative activities to support the development and delivery of projects, in line with established project plans and objectives.


Key accountabilities:

  • Provide project and operational support, including monitoring and reporting on project plans, milestones and deliverables, to ensure time, cost and quality indicators are in line with approved project plans
  • Update and collate documentation and records regarding relevant issues, policies and practices to ensure the delivery of projects complies with agreed project management methodology
  • Undertake basic research and analysis in assigned project areas and contribute to the preparation of project briefs to support informed decision making and planning
  • Assist the project team to complete tasks and implement project plans to ensure agreed outcomes are achieved
  • Communicate with relevant stakeholders to provide updates regarding project status and implementation issues
  • Provide a range of secretariat and administrative services, including coordinating committee meetings and preparing papers, to support project management delivery

To help you succeed in this role, you will have:

  • Ability to compile & professionally communicate information for a range of internal and external stakeholders
  • Demonstrated ability to assist in managing projects to a high quality, knowledge and experience of program management would be a plus
  • Customer focused with developed planning, organisation, research, analytical and problemsolving skills
  • Be highly organised and have excellent time management and ability to multitask & manage competing deadlines, including flexibility with shifting priorities
  • Possess excellent interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with stakeholders across the business
