**The Role**

HR Policy and Operations
Use your technical knowledge of the APS employment frameworks and industrial relations expertise to solve organisational problems and administer employment conditions that make the department a competitive employer of choice.

Diversity and Inclusion
Connect department priorities to Commonwealth diversity and inclusion strategies, legislative reform and our desired culture. Support and embed inclusive practices and support our Champions and staff networks to maximise their impact.

Performance and Conduct

Learning and Development
Use your project management skills to manage high quality capability development and talent management programs for the department. You will work on capability program design and procurement, liaise with external providers to coordinate the development of tailored programs and identify opportunities to improve our L&D services.

Work Health Safety
Develop and maintain the department’s Work Health and Safety (WHS) Management System, Health and Safety Representatives (HSR) network, Employee Assistance Program (EAP) services, WHS risk management, physical and psychosocial wellbeing programs, investigation of WHS incidents, and secretariat support for the WHS committee.

**Duties and Responsibilities**
Responsibilities of the APS Level 5 may include:

- Undertaking human resources activities including providing accurate and timely advice
- Performing research and analysis and using judgement to make decisions
- Drafting correspondence, procedures, guidance and policies to a high standard
- Contributing to the management, delivery and monitoring of projects
- Providing high quality client services to internal and external stakeholders
- Identifying and implementing improvements to HR policy, systems, processes and other ways of working to improve outcomes and enhance our culture.
