**About the role**:
You will work with the rest our teaching team to help deliver our Advanced Diploma of Building Surveying (CPC60121). You will be responsible for teaching, assessing students and the supervision of students during site inspections. You will also participate in the ongoing review of training resources, in addition to delivery and teaching methods (including on-line delivery).

Another key aspect of this role will require you to interact with external organisations, industry groups and Melbourne Polytechnic teaching and administration staff to help build and maintain strong relationships.

At Melbourne Polytechnic we offer this course to various cohorts, including full-time and part-time options. A full-time group is approximately 25 students and a part-time group is approximately 30 students

The Building Surveying teaching area consists of some highly experienced teachers. There is good camaraderie within the team. As our new Building Surveing Teacher, you will be provided with a lot of support from the various areas across the institute as well as the Building Surveying administration team.

**Duties**:
**Teaching**:Develop, maintain and evaluate student learning programs, projects and associated materials.

**Assessment**:Conduct required pre-training assessment reviews and assessment requirements connected to contract delivery for the program/s.

**Industry Engagement**:Participate in the marketing and promotion of the courses by liaising with industry contacts, networks and learning communities.

**Quality and Compliance**:Assist in the development and maintenance of quality assurance processes in relation to program and course administration, design, delivery assessment and evaluation of training materials.

**Vocational and Industry Currency**:Identify, create and participate in professional development relevant to teaching and the maintenance of vocational currency.

**Skills and experience required**:

- Relevant vocational qualification at Advanced Diploma or degree level or relevant industry experience related to the Building Surveying.
- TAE40116 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment or A Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE 40110) including Design and Develop Assessment Tools (TAEASS502) and Address Adult language, Literacy and Numeracy (LLN) skills (TAELLN411) or (TAELLN401A)
- Be able to meet one of the below requirements within 6 months of an appointment to Lead Teacher:

- Licensed as Building Surveyor Level 1 (or equivalent) or Level 2 (or equivalent) in the state of Victoria, or
- Have current membership of a relevant industry association and have current registration on the National Building Professionals Register in the Building Industry Control category (level 1), or
- Have accreditation under the Australian Institute of Building Surveyors (AIBS) National Accreditation Scheme at Building Surveyor level or be accredited by the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors as a building certifier.
- Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of policy and legislation pertaining to the position, including but not limited to; Anti-Discrimination legislation; Occupational Health and Safety policies; SNR standards for ASQA Registered Training Organisations; Quality Assurance; and Continuous Improvement.
- Current Working with Children Check.
