**About the role**:
To allow applicant who is studying to become a Trainer with valuable on-the-job experience while they are completing their Certificate IV in Training and Assessment to be considered under the TUS program. The applicant needs to hold at least one of the following to be considered under TUS:
- TAESS00007 Enterprise Trainer - Presenting Skill Set
- TAESS00014 Enterprise Trainer - Presenting Skill Set or its successor
- TAESS00008 Enterprise Trainer - Mentoring Skill Set
- TAESS00013 Enterprise Trainer - Mentoring Skill Set or its successor
- TAESS00003 Enterprise Trainer and Assessor Skill Set
- TAESS00015 Enterprise Trainer and Assessor Skill Set or its successor
- TAE40116 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment or its successor
- TAE40110 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment plus two of the competencies listed
- in Item 2 of Schedule 1
- A diploma or higher-level qualification in adult education that has been recognized as
- such by Melbourne Polytechnic
**The applicant also needs to**:
- Have vocational competencies at least to the level of Advanced Diploma of Building Surveying
- Have current industry skills directly relevant to the Building Surveying industry
- To provide vocational current content knowledge and undertake teaching duties as requested by Program Leader.
- To allow the applicant after successful completion of their Certificate IV in Training and Assessment to become a full-time Trainer within the Building Surveying area
**Duties**:
- Plan, develop, deliver and assist to gather evidence for assessments of CPC60121 - Advanced Diploma of Building Surveying course in conjunction with their supervisor.
- Provide pastoral care to students.
- Undertake a range of administrative, coordination and learning services activities directly related to the assigned program.
- Provide advice on resources prior to and during the training.
- Act as a trainer to local staff
- Maintain a work program including, handouts and text references
- Establish and maintain a learning environment that empowers and encourages students to take personal responsibility and is encouraging of them.
- Communicate and co-operate with colleagues in team teaching and other situations, including research of mentoring models.
**Skills and experience required**:
- Relevant vocational qualification at Advanced Diploma or degree level and relevant industry experience related to the Building Surveying.
- Be eligible to meet one of the the below requirements:
- Licensed as Building Surveyor Level 1 (or equivalent) or Level 2 (or equivalent) in the state of Victoria, or
- Have current membership of a relevant industry association and have current registration on the National Building Professionals Register in the Building Industry Control category (level 1), or
- Have accreditation under the Australian Institute of Building Surveyors (AIBS) National Accreditation Scheme at Building Surveyor level or be accredited by the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors as a building certifier.
- Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills.
- Capacity to work effectively in a team environment and to adapt effectively to change.
- Capacity to plan, schedule and meet agreed deadlines in the completion of duties.
- Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of policy and legislation pertaining to the position, including but not limited to; Anti-Discrimination legislation; Occupational Health and Safety policies; SNR standards for ASQA Registered Training Organisations; Quality Assurance;
