Paying a very competitive salary package + bonus + regional allowance. In addition to a relocation package for those moving to the Hunter region from broader NSW or out of state.

This position would be a great fit for someone who is a problem solver and enjoys getting out into the business to work with internal stakeholders.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare reports in agreed timeframe, including monthly reports & cost review meetings.
  • Ensure accurate and timely delivery of cost performance reports to the management team on a monthly basis and expenditure forecasts.
  • Contribute to the development of budgets, cost models, and Capital Expenditure plans.
  • Identify significant variances from budgeted costs & escalate issues and solutions to appropriate persons.
  • Contribute to business improvement through the development of tracking systems for continuous / business improvement opportunities across the operation, and provide useable information to other Departmental Managers.
  • Promote the development of Commercial standards, audits, and proactive and engaging cost management by the work team.
  • Develop solutions to identified problems and take accountability for resolving issues.
  • Demonstrate a detailed understanding of mining activities and mobile plant costs, demonstrating detailed analysis of performance and provide analysis that communicates critical information to the business.

Profile:

  • CA, CPA or equivalent qualified. Those not qualified or studying towards will still be considered.
  • Proven experience in a mining or similar project, cost & CAPEX focused environment.
  • Experience working in an international business with overseas reporting lines.
  • Confident and concise communicator, capable of providing influence with stakeholders, both internal and external.
  • Problem solver mentality.
  • A commercial mindset and able to look for opportunities to improve and create efficiencies.
  • Systems savvy with experience using complex, multi-faceted systems.
  • Excellent attention to detail, accuracy, and organisational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks effectively.
