Overview

PCA Ground Engineering is a dynamic leader in ground engineering and civil construction across Queensland and New South Wales, specialising in piling, grouting, and earth retention. We are seeking an Engineering Geologist to join our Engineering team to help re-imagine how we design and deliver major work.

Location: Seven Hills (NSW) OR Gold Coast (QLD)

Employment type: Permanent, Full-Time

Company: PCA Ground Engineering

Remuneration: Flexible, yearly salary - paid weekly

Responsibilities
  • Geological desk studies for small to large projects
  • Scope, manage and supervise geotechnical investigations including logging to AS1726, sampling, in situ testing, preparation and review of laboratory test schedules, control of samples, preparation (where required) and checking of contract technical output (borehole logs & test results)
  • Soil and Rock Slope Stability assessments
  • Rock Mapping and Kinematic analyses
  • Quality checking logs and factual reports generated by others
  • Production of geotechnical factual and interpretive reports, and technical memorandums
Qualifications and Skills
  • A good understanding of the ANZ industry and technical standards
  • Minimum 2-3 years relevant experience
  • Broad engineering geology and geohazards competency as well as a working knowledge of geotechnical engineering
  • A good understanding of ground conditions, drilling and site investigation works
  • Working knowledge of geotechnical processes
  • Solid IT skills including 2-D/3-D geological modelling, Microsoft Office, and database maintenance
  • Strong communication and reporting skills with the ability to convey findings to various audiences
  • Experience with Geostudio suite (Slope/W, Seep/W) and Rocscience suite (Dips, SWedge, RocFall)
  • TfNSW or TMR Slope Risk Assessor accreditation would be highly desirable
