
Business Development Executive

Location: Open to Melbourne or Sydney
We are looking for a highly motivated and commercially focused Business Development Executive (BDE) to lead the growth of our Data & AI Services portfolio in Australia. This role will be pivotal in helping customers unlock value from their data assets, leverage AI to transform their operations, and navigate the rapidly evolving data landscape.
The ideal candidate has a strong foundation in cloud data platforms, understands the business impact of AI (including LLMs and Agents), and can translate customer challenges into actionable solutions. You will work closely with Account Managers, Solution Architects, and key hyperscaler and ISV partners to win new business and scale delivery of strategic data and AI outcomes.
Responsibilities- Own and drive the growth of Data & AI Services, including advisory, implementation, and managed services.
- Build and maintain strong customer relationships, identifying and qualifying net new opportunities across multiple industries and account segments.
- Lead the end-to-end sales cycle from early-stage qualification to contract closure, ensuring a high standard of commercial and technical alignment.
- Collaborate with Account Managers, Enterprise Architects, and Technical/Practice Leads to align customer goals with solution design and delivery capabilities.
- Engage key cloud and ISV partners (e.g. Databricks, Snowflake, DataRobot, Alteryx, Informatica, etc.) to co-sell, bundle, or jointly position services to accelerate customer outcomes.
- Align to hyperscaler sales plays and funding programs (across AWS, Azure, GCP) while remaining vendor-agnostic in solution positioning.
- Stay abreast of emerging trends across Generative AI, AI Agents, ML Ops, LLM integration, and data platform modernisation.
- Deliver clear and compelling proposals, commercial models, and service outlines tailored to customer use cases and expected outcomes.
- Provide internal feedback to improve portfolio relevance, delivery execution, and partner alignment.
- Existing full-time work rights in Australia
- Ability to commute to our office and visit customers in Melbourne or Sydney
- Excellent interpersonal and collaboration skills, with the ability to influence across internal and external stakeholders.
- A naturally curious mindset, with a strong desire to understand emerging technologies, customer challenges, and how innovation in Data & AI can drive business value.
- 5+ years experience in enterprise technology sales or pre-sales, with a focus on data platforms, analytics, or artificial intelligence solutions.
- Deep understanding of how data and AI can solve real-world business challenges across various industries.
- Able to translate complex technical topics such as data lakehouse architectures, LLM deployments, or machine learning pipelines into commercially relevant conversations.
- Proven ability to lead complex, multi-party sales engagements across both IT and line-of-business (LOB) stakeholders.
- Familiarity with hyperscaler-native and third-party platforms including Azure Synapse, AWS Redshift, GCP BigQuery, Power BI, Tableau, Databricks, Snowflake, etc.
- Understanding of AI/ML lifecycle, including model development, deployment, governance, and ethical considerations.
- Strong understanding of cloud economics and how to structure service offerings around platform spend and customer ROI.
- Experience selling advisory, professional, and managed services, including data strategy, platform modernisation, data governance, and AI roadmap execution.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present confidently to C-suite and technical stakeholders alike.
- Experience with opportunity management, CRM discipline, and pipeline development practices.
- Experience working in or alongside data engineering, analytics, or AI teams.
- Understanding of data privacy frameworks and AI governance (e.g. ISO, GDPR, Responsible AI).
- Previous exposure to building Go-To-Market offerings or co-sell motions with partners.
