We are seeking a Podiatrist (Grade 1 or 2) to join our team based in Nhill in a full-time capacity (80 hours/fortnight, including accrued days off).

You will assist in covering 9 locations across Western Victoria, providing podiatry services to people of all ages within our communities, acute inpatient wards and residential aged care facilities.

West Wimmera Health Service provides high-quality hospital care, residential aged care, disability services and community health facilities to more than 22,000 people across nine locations in the West Wimmera region. Midway between Melbourne and Adelaide, Nhill is a thriving country town surrounded by state and national parks, offering sunsets and scenic views. Nhill\'s proximity offers access to educational, medical and aged care facilities as well as recreational activities.

The successful applicant will experience a comprehensive caseload working alongside a skilled, friendly and supportive multi-disciplinary team. We provide extensive clinical supervision as well as generous support to undertake professional development.

KEY SELECTION CRITERIA

Essential

  • Bachelor of Podiatry, or equivalent qualifications as recognised by the Podiatrist Registration Board of Victoria.
  • Appropriate skills/experience as a base grade practicing clinician.
  • Ability to work independently without supervision and as a member of the Podiatry Department and Multidisciplinary health team. Must be effective in a team and be able to demonstrate initiative, enthusiasm and flexibility.
  • Possess highly developed communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills including the ability to negotiate effectively with peers and other professionals and speak to community groups as required.
  • Must be self-motivated and be responsible and responsive to a situation where a high level of autonomy exists.
  • Willingness to work in a rural setting.

Grade 2

  • Have advanced and proven abilities in the assessment and treatment of podiatry services using a problem-solving and objective approach.

Pre-requisites

  • NDIS Worker Screening Clearance
  • Working with Children Check
  • Fully vaccinated (including influenza) as per current Department of Health Directives.
  • Australian Driver's Licence.
